Nursing Professional Development Role

Assessing and evaluating learner development and needs are a primary concern and role for nurses educators. As a nurse educator I am responsible for using a variety of strategies and techniques to assess and evaluate student learning and provide feedback with constructive criticism that will enhance learning. As a novice educator I will need to identify, select, develop, and implement assessment and evaluation strategies that will accurately measure student learning and development. Summative and formative methods using concept maps, articles reviews, case studies and portfolio's are a few evaluation strategies I plan to utilize in measuring student learning. As I become more experienced as a nurse educator I will be able to determine which technique's will provide the most productive and positive feedback. Please see the attached file for an example of student learning evaluation using formative questions and a case study strategy embedded within a powerpoint presentation that I coordinated during my scholarly project. Also, included below is an example of my instructor-student evaluation, which provided feedback from the students related to the overall learning module.
